Top FAA And TSA Officials To Address Air Charter Summit and FBO Leadership Conference Audiences

The National Air Transportation Association issued the following news release:

The National Air Transportation Association (NATA) 2009 Air Charter Summit (June 8-10) and 2009 FBO Leadership Conference (June 9-11) will both be held at the Westfields Marriott near Dulles International Airport and feature sessions led by top FAA and TSA officials.

John Sammon, TSA's assistant administrator, Transportation Sector Network Management addresses the latest general aviation security developments, including the Large Aircraft Security Program NPRM and quot;Operation Playbookquot; security screening protocol during the Air Charter Summit.

Douglass Hofsass, TSA's general manager, Commercial Aviation & Airports, covers the latest aviation security developments affecting ground service operation, including employee screening, ramp access, quot;Operation Playbookquot; security measures and a recent security directive requiring all employees with AOA access at commercial airports to be badged.

FAA leadership directly responsible for Part 135 oversight including, Hooper Harris, acting director, Office of Investigation, Dennis Pratte, manager, Part 135 Air Carrier Operations Branch, and Don Arendt, manager, Flight Standards SMS Office will provide Summit attendees updates on current initiatives such as operational control, actions to publish the Part 135 ARC proposals and require safety management systems, flight and duty time requirements, performance assessments prior to landing, and more.

FAA's Catherine M. Lang, acting associate administrator for Airports, shares how noise restrictions, minimum standards, overnight curfews, and many other general aviation and commercial airports issues will affect the FBO community.
