Posted: February 2nd, 2010

U.S. company ICx Technologies has released its new detection system designed to scan for liquid threats supporting airport checkpoint security.

ICx announced the launch of its Fido ClearPoint liquid-filled bottle screening technology. The Fido ClearPoint, based on the company's Raman system, is designed to quickly scan bottled liquids for potential security threats.

ICx says its ClearPoint adds to the company's line of Fido threat detection technologies and is part of an effort to address the evolving scanning requirements of airport security checkpoints.

The Transportation Security Administration already has 200 of our Fido PaxPoint handheld liquid screeners deployed at 30 of the largest airports in the United States, Colin Cumming, ICx Technologies chief executive officer, said in a statement.

We developed ClearPoint to augment the capabilities of PaxPoint and other security technologies, and to fit seamlessly into current processes at airport security lanes.
