
The Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (DMIA) here has the potential to become the premier international gateway of the Philippines, according to a top official of Guam International Airport.
Martin Gerber, Guam International Airport chairman, toured the 2,367-hectare Clark Civil Aviation Complex over the weekend.
Victor Jose I. Luciano, president and chief executive of the Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC), said Gerber was very much impressed with the DMIA airport and its facilities, whom the latter described have incredible developments.
Luciano, together with some CIAC top officials briefed Gerber on the various ongoing developments at the airport, such as the construction of the Terminal 2 and the expansion of the Terminal 1 to accommodate the influx of passengers in the coming years.
DMIA caters to international and domestic flights being operated by foreign and local carriers flying out of Clark Freeport.
Luciano said he also informed Gerber that Spirit of Manila Airlines and Zest Air would soon fly out of Clark to various destinations in the South East Asian Region and the Middle East.
