MONTREAL --
Bombardier Aerospace has terminated an order from Jet Republic for up to 110 jets.
Bombardier said Thursday the order for 110 Learjet 60 XR aircraft, consisting of 25 firm orders and 85 conditional orders, to Lisbon-based Jet Republic was originally announced on June 20, 2008.
The deal was worth up to $1.5 billion.
The cancellation comes just over a week after Bombardier canceled an order from Italy's My Air for 15 of its CRJ1000 aircraft because the carrier faces uncertainty. Italy's civil aviation authority suspended My Air's license last month due to financial troubles at the airline.
Bombardier did not give a reason for the Jet Republic termination, but said it is still committed to the Learjet program which operates out of a facility in Wichita, Kan.
Montreal-based Bombardier is the world's third-largest aircraft manufacturer.
