TRAVEL AND LEISURE CLOSE-UP-1 February 2010-AirTran Airways Announces New Service to Grand Rapids

AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of a US-based holding company, AirTran Holdings, Inc (NYSE:AAI), has announced new nonstop service between Gerald R Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport and Orlando International Airport.

The new service will commence from May 4, 2010. Travel on introductory fares commencing from USD69 one way must be booked by February 25, 2010, for travel through June 9, 2010.

The airline senior vice president, marketing and planning, Kevin Healy, said, 'With its diverse mix of industries and population of more than 1.7 million people within an hour of the airport, Grand Rapids and Western Michigan have been on our radar for a long time. Because of the leadership of the local business community, and particularly the Regional Air Alliance of West Michigan, we are finally able to make AirTran service there a reality.'
