LAX appoints new assistant chief of Los Angeles airport police, homeland security, and intelligence

Los Angels Airport (LAX) yesterday announced the appointment of Ethel L McGuire as its new airport police assistant chief for homeland security and intelligence. Former FBI special agent McGuire will over see airport police sections responsible for ensuring compliance with Transportation Security Administration mandates, security credentialing, dignitary protection, emergency services and homeland security/vulnerability assessment and analysis as well as analysis of relevancy threat-based intelligence and the development of counter-terrorist, threat management recommendations and appropriate counter-measures. Prior to McGuire's appointment with the airport she was section chief of the strategic information and operations centre at FBI headquarters in Washington D.C.
