Nigerian airline Arik Air announced today that it is inaugurating its new scheduled service between Lagos Murtala Muhammed Airport and New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Three weekly services will be operated on the route on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from New York and on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from Lagos.

The first flight will depart New York JFK's Terminal 4 at 22:00 tonight, arriving in Lagos at 14:40 tomorrow. Flights from Lagos will depart at 23:20, arriving in New York at 05:50 the following days.

The service will operated by Arik Air's partner, Hi Fly Transportes Aeros SA, using an Airbus A340-500.
