Swiss International Air Lines to expand Geneva-London services
Posted: November 25th, 2009

The airline plans to offer six new daily services between Geneva and London Heathrow Airport. Swiss International Air Lines, together with a modified service of four daily flights to London City Airport, will reportedly be doubling the number of seats it offers to and from the London market. The new services between Geneva and London Heathrow will be operated by two aircraft of the Airbus A320 family. In an initial phase, one of these will be provided by bmi, Swiss International Air Lines's new sister airline within the Lufthansa Group, the airline said. Swiss International Air Lines will later operate all the London Heathrow services with its own equipment. In addition, an Airbus A320 of Swiss International Air Lines will be stationed in Geneva for this purpose. The airline has added that its present four-times-weekly service between Geneva and Bucharest will be withdrawn owing to insufficient market demand.
