TRAVEL AND LEISURE CLOSE-UP-11 November 2009-Continental Airlines to Auction World Trip

Continental Airlines (NYSE:CAL), a US-based airline company, has announced an auction for its frequent flyers to bid their miles on a around-the-world trip to visit eight wonders of the world.

The auction will be held online at auction.continental.com. The winning bidder and a companion will travel from their hometown to Continental's Houston hub at Bush Intercontinental Airport and continue the journey in business class on the airline and other Star Alliance member airlines to visit Rio de Janeiro for statue of Christ the Redeemer; Rome for Colosseum; Delhi for Taj Mahal; Amman for Petra; Cairo for Great Pyramid of Giza; Beijing for Great Wall of China; Mexico City for Chichen Itza; and Lima for Machu Picchu.

The airline senior vice president of marketing programs and distribution, Mark Bergsrud, said, 'We are pleased to celebrate joining Star Alliance by bringing this unique auction package to our most loyal customers. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.'
