"The U.S. have had this technology for some time but it's so slow and expensive it is not viable.

"The scanner we have produced is similar but has a better image quality than the American system, and scans at a very high speed.

"We have had a deal with Manchester Airport for some years, and part of that deal is for us to provide a number of RTT machines, with a view to supplying them for the entire site.

"Initially the manufacturing of the machines will be done in Surrey but we expect this to move North West."
